SALSA

Salsa
If you are a fan of Salsa and are used to getting it in jars in the grocery stroe you are going to be pleased with this recipe from your garden. If you have avoided Salsa you will be pleasently surprised. Instead of cooked ingredients, filled with preservatives, and weeks or months away from the garden you will experience the freshest dish you can imagine. I was leary the first time I made this but the first bite made me a fan forever.

For this recipe you need a vegetable chopper. Electric and manual ones seem to produce the same result.

10-12 cherry tomatoes, whole
1 regular large tomato, cut into chunks
2 Anaheim peppers with stem and seeds removed
2 banana peppers with stem and seeds removed
1 Jalapeno pepper with stem and seeds removed
2 sprigs of cilantro
1 large onion, peeled and cut into chunks
1 bag tortilla chips
1 tablespoon chile powder
1 teaspoon powdered red pepper
a pinch of salt

Put each ingredient into the vegetable chopper and pour into bowl when chopped. This should take several batches. When all ingredients are processed mix with a large spoon. Dip with chips of your choice. Don't worry about leftovers as there will be none. Don't worry, it's just a quick trip outside to your garden to make more.
